Debbys Ripple Shawl

A soft and luxurious ripple shawl with a vintage vibe. The shawl has a triangle shape, worked from the top down, building up new ripples with five repeating rows, using only chains and double crochets.

Materials

  • Yarn: Grundl Hot Socks Pearl with cashmere (50g/200m/218yds). Sample shawl weighs 254g.

    • Colour A; Grey 19 x 3 balls (about 110g)

    • Colour B: Plum 05 x 2 balls (about 95g)

    • Colour C: Pink 17 x 1 ball (about 30g)

    • Colour D: Light Peach 16 x 1 ball (about 30g)

  • Hook: 4,5 mm

  • Yarn needle and scissors

  • You may find stitch markers useful to mark the first and last stitch of rows

  • Other yarn materials; You can use any similar sock weight wool in your choice of colours to achieve a similar effect

Measurements

Finished shawl measures 172 cm/68 in across and 85 cm/ 33in deep at the longest point.

Gauge

Work 16dc and 10 rows to measure 10 cm x 10 cm /4 inches x 4 using a 4,5 mm hook, or size required to obtain tension.
