The Butterfly Scarf.

Summer is apon us! This scarf is a fun summer project with some lovely butterfly motifs that makes it perfect for the summer outfit! This scarf gives you an opportunity to play around with your favorite colors. Use contrast colors or make a smooth transition between the colors. It also looks great using a whirl!

Butterflies can't see their wings.

They can't see how truly beautiful they are,

but everyone else can.

People are like that as well.

What you need to make this scarf

Yarn: Pima Bomuld 2/8 from CaMaRose, 50g/200m, fingering weight yarn.

You need 4 balls, one of each colour, to make the scarf:

  • Color A (havgrøn 3655) - ocean green

  • Color B (råhvid 3000)  - raw white

  • Color C (lys lilla 3612) - light  lilac

  • Color D (lys gylden 3244) - light golden

You need 1 ball, if you want to add a border:

  • Color E (lysegrå 3608) - light grey

Important note: If you use a thicker yarn, you might need a little more than 1 ball for each color to make the scarf. That may not be the case for the border.

Yarn alternatives: You can use any fingering weight yarn.

Hook: 3 mm crochet hook or size needed to match your yarn. Use a slightly bigger hook (0.5 - 1.0 mm) than recommended for the yarn to get a nice drape.

Customize your scarf

This scarf is worked from one side to the other, from tip to tip. You make an increase on one side, on every row, while keeping the other side straight. Continue until you reach the length of half your scarf. Then you make a decrease at the same place you made the increase. In this way, you can make it as large as you want!

You can find the pattern in US terms in my Ravelry Store. It is a written pattern with a lot of pictures.
